Temporary
...the once when she lost her sight

She held me softly
Even though she was harder than me
Standing high on a corner
She was tall I could not speak
Then she told me to kiss her
And I almost lost my sight
She could see for me
We knew I was not the one she needed

I walked home, she walked nowhere
Explained it all to me
In a gentle version
I could feel but could not see
She never told me to kiss her
Except the once when she lost her sight
She could see for me
We knew I was not the one she needed

Temporary loss of her vision
She could see
Older version of me
She could stand on like the stone
She stepped on to command me to kiss her
To kiss her

And I never asked her
What about that song was so sad
There was loss at the corners
Of her mouth, I felt so bad
It was just a song
That I sang 'cause I knew the words
Then I saw her looking
We knew I was not the one she needed

Temporary loss of her vision
She could see
Older version of me
She could stand on like the stone
She stepped on to command me to kiss her
To kiss her
To kiss her
